While we wait for Apple to rock the world later today, I have a suggestion for improving the workflow around the creation of links to anchors.
Currently, linking to an anchor (on the current page or another) relies on existing container IDs being available, so if they’re not (which is a common occurrence) you have to break your current workflow, go to the target page/container and add the required ID. But, with the Page Layout hierarchy you could stay in the “Choose Link…” dialog if there was a second popup that showed the hierarchy of the selected target page (filtered to show eligible components that don’t already have an ID), and a text-entry field in which to enter the ID for the selected container - no need to “break out” of the dialog and break your workflow to create the target ID.
I would suggest that this additional popup and field only become visible if the user selects “Create…” (an additional static member of the popup) on the Anchor popup menu. That way, it doesn’t get in the way of the existing method where the required ID is already created and available in the anchor popup list.
