Speed of CMS content on Chillidog

If you go to this website, where the page displays a list of blog posts… personally, when I try, it takes at least 20 secs to load and display… this is built using Elements CMS and hosted on Chillidog… This is way too long… how can we improve this?

When I visit that link it loads instantly

Maybe it’s because I tested it just before writing this post. I’ll keep an eye on this and see if people can check.

Loaded very fast for me as well.

loaded in the blink of an eye….

Did not load on the first try for me. Needed to reload after 30 seconds to make the site appear.

I had the same issue as Fynn.

see? this is what I find really strange.

I wonder if this is a Chillidog issue or a Elements CMS issue…

I just tried a few minutes ago and it I was about 15 seconds before it loaded, when your page opened I copied the address and then opened another webpage and pasted your address into the address bar and it loaded instantly. Came back to forum, tried the link took about 20secs to load, repeated the paste in another page loaded instantly, back to this forum and it loaded instantly.

Update

From this forum and the link odd slow loads to instant, pasting the address into another pages address bar it loads so fast

This is mostly due to the way the forum is hosted (nothing that can be influenced by RW I think). The forum might use some processes when opening a referred link, whereas when you add the link directly to the browser it loads directly (unless you are opening links via a VPN or a service which checks the content of a uRL before loading).

I often see this on the forum other links as well, even loading the forum and switching threads at times

had 10 mins posted my previous attempt at cms - test speed

https://sjwjaw.co.uk

could someone check mobile and laptop reduce width of screen to as narrow as possible and see if the return arrow on the idividual post has a background and also check mobile for same thing, thanks - see post above

this is my laptop

this is my mobile

a a background appeared behind the flashing return

strange

Can you provide a link?

It’s in the post above or two now

fixed, replaced with a svg no longer inserts a button background for no reason

here is the project if anyone is interested, built while trying cms for the first time, no real thought

I can see there is sometimes a long-ish loading time (around 3-5 seconds here), but once the page has been visited, subsequent visits (even non-cached visits) to the page are much fast, which makes me wonder if the server needs a kick to wake it up, and once the content has been accessed it becomes a lot quicker to respond.

Either way, we will be implementing caching (we have a caching system almost ready to go), however, the current CMS beta does not use any form of caching.

Thanks for the update. I must say that load times can be as high as 20 sec for me… and yeah, seems some back end issue… might ping someone at Chillidog hosting?
