RapidWeaver Elements is best thought of as a totally new product as sites are built very differently with the new WYSIWYG editor (and Element Language). Unfortunately, there’s no easy way to open older Classic projects (especially those using third-party addons).
However, we are going to continue updating and supporting RapidWeaver Classic so your existing site can stay happily running in Classic for years to come just as they are today.
If you want to move over an existing Classic site you’ll need to re-design it in Elements and migrate over the content manually. We know this is not ideal, but due to how differently the two products work there’s no easy way to make this happen.
For small to medium Classic sites we’re going to recommend users try rebuilding their sites in Elements - We think once they start using the WYSIWYG editor, they’ll wonder how they ever built websites without it!
