I have everything correct but for some reason it keeps telling me the settings are incorrect. I copied everything from my older sites (They work just fine) but this new site is giving me a headache trying to publish. I can’t even export the site and FTP manually. Any help would be appreciated.
Troubleshoot…
Can you FTP into your server?
What are the settings? Same path etc…
Thanks for responding. I can use FileZilla to ftp with no issues. Within Elements and Classic I can access the correct directory and the settings are correct but it just will not publish. All the DNS pointers are correct at the host side but no joy.
Are both registered up to date copies of elements and RWC?
Who is your host? Have you contacted them?
Elements yes. Classic no. Classic is on 9.5. I think and Elements just updated today.
Does the ‘test’ button on the bottom of the information set up page work?
If the test button works it’s your host!
If the test button doesn’t work you have some wrong information…
Are you using FTP, SFTP, FTPS ?
Elememts is but Classic is not. But I can still publish and change things on my old websites with classic and published with no problem..
Test button works, and I can even select the correct directory. It just won’t publish. I was on with the host for two hours last night and all everything’s working fine. Everything is configured correctly on the new website.
Hi @RobertJames
Can you post a screenshot of your publishing settings (without the password visible) so we can take a look?
Zip.. Nothing works. I cannot even export files nor can I publish to a local folder.
With respect to FTP,SFTP,FTPS; which are you ‘trying’ to use?
If you can’t publish to a Local folder then that implies something fundamental is going wrong? ![]()
When you say it “doesn’t work” - what happens / what do you see when you press the Publish button for a Local folder publish?
When I try to publish to a local folder, it tells me to update my settings that it can identify the path. So I even decided I wouldn’t save it to my iCloud. I would save it to a local drive and still no joy. When I try to publish to the host, I use FTP. This is really frustrating because I’m way behind on a deadline for this customer. .
Hi @RobertJames
I replied to the ticket you submitted in our help desk, along to your forum post here, but you aren’t replying. We’d like to try and help you get this resolved. Could you reply with the requested information so we can take a look to troubleshoot?
But since you mentioned the “PATH” field, can you try to delete whatever you have in the “PATH” field now, and then click the Browse button next to the “PATH” field, and then re-select the correct folder you should be publishing to on your web hosting provider, and then try re-publishing?
If that doesn’t work a screenshot of your publishing settings (minus the password) would really help troubleshoot further.
Simple one is the web address on first page in settings the exact same as on publishing page? Also @differentdan is your expert here work with him and he will help you!
Indeed, the “Path” and the “Override Website Address” fields are the two biggest fields we see errors in.
Actually, AFAIK, it doesn’t have to be.
You must specify the web address in the Settings > General tab. The Publishing settings address for a publishing destination is an “Override Website Address”. This allows you to publish the same site to different domains e.g: yoursite.com.local or staging.yoursite.com or yoursite.com.
This was one of the many great improvements over the original Rapid Weaver App, not sure if it has caught up with Elements now. ![]()
