This marks the field as required. For a form, an e-mail address is required.

Thanks for such prompt response.
Client want me to remove it - any way to do this?

Also, on the Name it is gone.

Yes, for the name you can select this in the settings. Not for the e-mail. You would have to ask @Elixir if there is a way to remove it…I tagged him so he gets a notice of this thread.

Thanks Jan for the feedback and forwarding to Elixir - assuming it will require stack to be modified and hence, for now I will persuade client to return text back.

Thanks

The asterisk is not removable. As @Fuellemann points out it is to mark the required field(s) and thus is required so the visitor will understand that the form will fail if they do not supply this information. This is something you should have in order to make the form friendly to visitors.

I have to say that I don’t like asterisks in this context. Forms Plus also has them and (as far as I know) they can’t be removed. On a short form, it is quite likely that all the fields will be required and a line at the top saying this is clearer and neater.

EDIT: actually I was thinking of FormSnap. Not sure if it is true of Forms Plus.

The asterisk really should be there: errors which those filling in the form without it but don’t understand the reason for will result if not.

As a last resort, presumably you could identify the element and set its color to the same as the background using CSS !

As I said, on short forms where all fields are required, it’s simpler to just say that at the top.
