I am using the “Poster” by InStacks Software. How do I split my long text, so I can use the “read more” feature? Is there a trigger or special character? What decide the amount of lines of text before it shows the ”read more” words?

On each Poster Item, you have in the stack settings a “Summary Content” option.
If activated, you will get another content area in the edit mode, where you are able to place text.
You are also able to decide if the summary content will be displayed only in list, or also in the details view.
