Contact Form Going to Junk

People have been contacting me by using the Contact form on my website. All of the emails generated by the contact form have gone into my junk folder. How do I fix that? The email address I use on the website is a gmail address. I have used a gmail address for my personal email and never had a problem with my emails going into peoples’ junk folders.

This is happening because the email address used is the the users email…and the email program thinks it is spam!!!

Mail Clients will send email to junk based on the mail server/senders address sending the mail not the address it’s going to.
Have you tried changing the "from email address to something else. Maybe one from the site’s domain. I would never use a gmail address in a contact form. It’s best to setup email on the domain. Most hosting companies offer free email addresses and can forward the email to what address you want.

I used to use an email address through my domain but anytime someone emailed me using that email it always went to junk. I tried 2 different hosting companies and had the same problem even though they insisted that there were no filters on my account. That’s why I switched to a gmail account.

If you are using Apple Mail Client, it won’t send email to junk if its in your contacts list.

  1. Find the email in the junk folder.
  2. Right-Click on the senders name
  3. add to contacts

It still can end up as junk; Your email provider or a server that the message passed through could have added x-Spam headers to the email if they think it was spam.

Have just spoken to apple and they now say they cannot do anything so basically I can’t use a contact form…
