I have no idea what the problem is, but @zeebe or @joeworkman can sure help out here.
Since you have Foundry another alternative is to use the Pagination stack. Again, it does not work exactly like Compas but depending on what you are specifically trying to achieve it may be an even better option. Worth a look.
I’m not sure why it is not working correctly, you could try another theme, just to check if it might be a compatibility issue. A lot of navigation elements are set by the themes plist. Other than that you can fill out a support ticket with Joe’s site.
If you check the support docs the last time Compass was updated was in August 2015. Way before Foundation and Foundry. It is possible it does not work with them as they are not “traditional” themes and thus may present navigation information in a different way from regular themes.
It is a pity that it does not work. Compass was handy when you have a lot of pages to browse, without having to worry about setting up links on every page.
I updated it and now it works.
In a next release, it would be nice to have a “drop zone content” so to use other stacks to better customize “previous” and “next” links like hover effects and all that what you want.
The navigation is required because that is what Compass looks at in order to know how to navigate around. Hiding the menu works well if you dont want it on the page.
