How does RapidWeaver 8 work?

@tjrob I certainly understand your reasons for not using RW. I think all of it was intuitive to me as I first started with RW. A bit later came Stacks. A bit later (years) came frameworks. So I wasn’t learning all that stuff at once.

The lack of a manual is, I confess, a sore spot. It doesn’t impact me personally but I think a number of newcomers would really benefit from a manual.

RW has an “odd” history. At this point in time most people would say Stacks is more important than RW. And then there’s a bunch of folks using frameworks. So if a manual were to be created then there would need to be cooperation from key plays: RealMac to describe the RW specific components, YourHead to describe Stacks and how it works, and some others to describe frameworks and or advanced themes. It’s all very doable (as I see it) but for some reason it hasn’t happened. Videos are great for some folks, but an easy -to -reference basic manual would be very helpful for many.

I have to agree with you. I started using RE just as it turned v2. It was simple but powerful. Now it is as you say it is. Very disjointed with most of the time people blaming other parts for failures in the process.

That said, “most” of the community does play together in the toy pit nicely.

The “whole developers community” needs to figure out how to make the APP feel cohesive no matter what direction a user chooses. AND it needs a manual with the same cohesiveness.

Please RW Community, own your short comings and fix it. It has been a lot of years of excuses and blaming something.
