I’ve selected the Artful Theme for my web site. In the header it has a photo of a random person. I’d like to change that to a photo of me. I’d also like to reduce the header size of the theme. I’ve looked through the manual and clicked all over the app, but I can’t seem to find any way to change this photo. Thanks!
Hi @davidc33,
Artful doesn’t allow you to change the banner image from inside RapidWeaver (unless I’m missing something). But you can work around this limitation with a little effort.
The photo in the banner is located in the folder /rw_common/themes/Artful/images/banners/default.jpg on your webserver. You can put any image there, provided the file’s named “banner.jpg” and the theme will show that image instead of the photo of the lady that it comes with as standard.
You’ll need to use an FTP client to change the file in that folder. Keep in mind that you’ll have to change the image if you ever select “Re-publish All Files” in RapidWeaver in the future, as that will set the default image again.
As for your other question:
You can modify sizes using CSS. What do you mean by “header”? Do you mean the large title text (headings) or something else? If you post a screenshot showing what you mean in the default theme, I can very likely post the code (and an explanation on how to implement it on your own site).
Cheers,
Erwin
Hi Erwin
Thanks a lot for the explanations. In the end, I decided to go with a different theme. But I really appreciate your time and effort to help me along.
