When i put content (that has a hyperlink in it) over an impact image the hyperlink is not clickable. Is there a trick to this?

No trick but there may be some custom CSS which would fix this up for you - but without a link to the site in question so we can inspect and test the CSS, its very difficult to say for sure. If you are still stuck and able to provide a link we can help, I’m sure 
If you use the Impact Add Content setting in the Image Slide child stack to add the foreground content then the link will be clickable.
