Hello, I have several web pages created with rapidweaver. To date I cannot see favicon and image. when I open browser on my iPhone all my competitors it looks better than me. I followed all the tutorial to have them too? someone can give me the exact diagram to have favicon and image as in the photo I add. merci
on computer it doesn’t matter. To this day I would like to focus on making myself appear better on the phone. The more we go forward the more people they watch than the phone. and on my iPhone nothing appears. on Nick Cates phone in addition.
Ok, I see you mean the favicon doesn’t appear in the Google search return. Google does say it can take up to 2-3 weeks for their spider to visit a site. It is possible Google’s spider hasn’t re-visited your site since you added the icons. Another option is to create and add the favicon tags manually to your project and not use RW’s favicon management and see how that goes. I generally add them manually and that does work for having the favicon show in Google listings.
Can you tell me which tag and where to put them manually. and for the photo next to it as in the photo I sent it is the same should we wait ?. in fact is there a place to put their photo so that it appears on Google iPhone
Here is the code I use for favicon, etc. You paste it in Settings > Code > Head
I use this site https://realfavicongenerator.net to generate the favicon and code. You may have to change the path to your files from the generated code. I put them in RW’s Resources in a folder named “favicons” but you can put them anywhere you like. Just be sure that the path is correct, and use the absolute url(s) for the files, ie the full web address.
Merci
Thanks, I’ll watch it all. In any case for you this is also the problem of Google. You have to wait a long time. Isn’t it a problem with rapidweaver generating PNG files? normally it should be in .ico?
It depends on the device it seems. .ico is used by some, but as you can see from the code there are some different formats for different devices. However it seems that if you only supplied an .ico file most devices will use that if they don’t find another file format. It just may look low-res or possibly not the size you would prefer as I recall.
Also, in Google webmaster’s tools I recall there is an option to request their spider to revisit your site and it’s usually immediate or nearly so, but can’t recall where that is at the moment.
