Just upgraded to Catalina 10.15.5 on an unsupported MacBookPro

I’ve been toying with this idea for awhile, and there was mention of it here:

I’ve been stuck at 11.6 for several years but can’t afford a new Mac and figured a couple of years ago that Apple was going to move from OS X to OS X+1, and based on last week’s WWDC it looks like they’re going to release some new hardware to go with Big Sur.

I picked up a 1TB SSD on the clearance table at an Office Depot for $20 in January, so today I took the plunge, after watching this video for a 2008 MBP. https://youtu.be/mytdmyZNgsM

It’s working flawlessly. Incredible. Took about 2 hours.
