Linking to Magellan Markers with smooth scrolling in Foundation

(Brian Millar) #1

Hi

I hope someone may be able to help with this.

I’m in the process of putting together a basic “single-paged” site using Foundation. I am using a Magellan style topbar to link to a number of sections/markers within the page - all works fine and the smooth scrolling effect is just what I’m looking for.

What I’m hoping to achieve is to add some standard hyperlinks within the body of the site that will link to same markers and still maintain the same smooth scroll effect.

If you look at http://sportsfixturesystems.com/development, I’ve created a temporary hyperlink (in red) called Fixture Generators which when selected will link to the desired marker, but without the smooth scroll.

Is this possible to achieve?

Many thanks

Regards, Brian

You cannot make a smooth scrolling link from within a paragraph just by adding the anchor link.

You would need to use the MagicLink stack. It is part of the MagicGellan2 set but will work with standard Foundation markers on your page as well. This does mean that your links would have to be within the stack (you can use whatever you want) rather than directly within the paragraph text.

Thanks for that. Will investigate that option
