Thank you @nickcates for your amazing contribution in this space, you will be enormously missed. You are not expendable - RAMBO 1st Blood! If it weren’t for @nickcates themes and plugins, I would have never purchased my copy of Rapidweaver back in 2012.
When I first started building websites, it was Nick Cates and Jonathon at SeyDesign and their wonderful themes that got my business off the ground. I used one of Nick Cates themes for years on my own website, and in several client sites. Thank you @nickcates and best of luck with Falcon Design!
For so many years I wanted a stack that could blow photographs of my maps up using warehoused images. Then Photo arrived. Absolutely marvellous and a real game changer for me. @nickcates thank you so much. I am going to miss your big smile and easy friendly manner in your videos. All the very best in your future endeavours
Big news indeed. No doubt that some of the most creative and adventurous themes in the entire history of Rapidweaver have originated from Nick Cates. This is a blow to the RW world for sure.
Your work was a big inspiration to me back when I got started with RW. I’ll never forget the first time I visited your site and thought “You can build THAT with Rapidweaver?”. Then bought Rapidweaver and Boreal. Immediately followed by Stacks after realising that you kind of had to…but I digress,
Best of luck with Falcon Design; your reference sites, especially the white water rafting site, are absolutely staggering; best of luck!
Don’t be so modest @nickcates! You can’t downplay your uniqueness, creativity, vision & style. Because of your templates and stacks, I have made some really good money for myself and my clients! When I think of Rapid Weaver, I think @nickcates!!! Your themes and stacks are my secret weapon! Now everyone lets all pick up a subscription of the @footerpro stack so @nickcates can use those proceeds to hire an inhouse or remote customer support assistant for all of Nick’s existing digital products! But don’t take them down, that’s an extra revenue stream there! I haven’t had a chance to pick up the PhotoPro yet. I know the game has changed with all these cloud web builders and other app platforms out there, but it doesn’t compare to your FRESH, CLEAN, SMOOTH, and SEXY templates!
I will miss your work @nickcates. Your themes and stacks are some of the best designed products I use. Your Forward theme was exactly how I wanted my site to look like and for years has defined my presence on the Web. My next site will be less for your absence. Good luck to you.
Damn. @nickcates themes are what got me into RapidWeaver in the first place many many… many moons ago. You’re definitely one the best designers the RW community has ever had. I’m sure you’ll absolutely rock it in your new endeavour. Thank you so much for all your support over the years. tips hat.
Hey @Aaron! I hope all is well. Re: @nickcates = RW LEGEND + INDEED. It would be great to see a long time veteran of @nickcates in assisting him in keeping all these amazing themes and stacks ALIVE! An intervention would help right about now.
A true blow to RW, to lose such a talented, innovative and creative designer. I hope RW puts effort into attracting more talent like him so the community can benefit and prosper. I wish Nick the best in his new Venture, and if it does not work out for him there are plenty of adoring fans ready to welcome him back.
Say it ain’t so!! Like so many others in the RW community I relied on Nick’s products to create great sites for clients and friends. His sense of design was far and above the rest and an inspiration for many. He was (is) a core dev for RW and his contributions will be missed. I wish you the best of luck in your new venture Nick, and offer my thanks for all you’ve done.
This is a huge loss for the RW community. A hearty thanks for his years of creativity and some of the best looking work out there. Saddened but I wish him the best on his future endeavors.
All the very best Nick - Some of my oldest sites are using your themes and it’s very noticeable how they still look great today. Longevity is a hallmark of great design!
