News aggregator / autoblogging stack available?

Hello,

I’m looking for a stack or plugin that will allow me to automatically post aggregated news stories from RSS feeds to my blog.

I found one stack, News Grid by Rapid Ideas, that claims to do this but I’m not sure if they are in business anymore. When I try to purchase the stack from their website, I get a 404 page not found error.

I’m able to do this with my WordPress sites and would like to be able to do it in my RapidWeaver projects as well.

Thanks,

Joe

What about using IFTTT to autopost things to a Tumblr blog. Then you can just use my Tumblr stack to embed that on your website.

Hello Joe,

I’m not familiar with IFTTT. Is this a news feed service? I want the entire story to be posted to my blog.

I also need to have control over the post. For example, in my WordPress sites, I can bring in news stories via RSS feeds into my blogs as a draft. I can then make any changes and/or add pictures if necessary and then post it manually.

I’m trying to find something like this for RapidWeaver.

Thanks again,

Joe

Hey Joe…

IFTTT - If This Then That is a web service that lets you make recipe’s to perform functions for various apps. There is an IOS version to integrate with the web version, a mac version (I believe) and an android version… check it out on the MAS or IOS App Store or go to their website for more information.

This will not allow editing inside RW.

So, if I understand you, you want something to auto post, AND be editable inside RW? That’s a pretty tall order… I think what you may need is a CMS… check out Total CMS by Joe Workman, there are other alternatives as well that can be searched for on the Community site.

Just my opinion :slightly_smiling:

Brad

Thanks for your info Brad.

After some ‘Googling’ around the web, I found 3 stacks that look like they’ll do what I need.

For anyone else interested in what I’m trying to accomplish, here are the names of the stacks…

Feed by Yuzoolthemes

MonsteRSS Stack by Barz Stacks

RSS Widget Stack by RWtuts

I haven’t decided which one I’m going to go with yet but so far, they all seem like they can do what I’m looking for.

Of course, if anyone has any other suggestions, I’d still love to hear them.

Thanks again,

Joe

@joerf3

To my understanding (I don’t do RSS lol), but none of these stacks allow the functionality you said that you wanted…

I think your requirements are: pull in data from a feed into RapidWeaver so you can add images and more context?

All of the mentioned stacks will pull in a feed to your website without issue, the content of the feed just won’t be editable through RapidWeaver…

I’m just trying to wrap my last brain cell around your requirements lol
