Set html language attribute without modifying index.html

Please.
Any way to set html language attribute -<html lang="es"> without editing index.html file?
Modifying index.html file every time I update the web it’s annoying and a waste of time.
What do you do if your page is written in another language but english?

Depends on the theme, Foundation has this option in the Site Styles stack.

A short JavaScript snippet would do the job. But if it is sufficient depends on the crawler, which is examine your site.
