Is this something that I did wrong, or is it a browser issue?
There is text being displayed in the upper left corner of this image. It only seems to display in chrome.

Hard to tell from just a screenshot, but it looks like chrome isn’t receiving the image and therefore cannot display it.
Is this on a live site? Do you have a URL?
Your logo is a TIF, which Chrome cannot render. It’s not a good image format to use on the web. Since you are using transparency, save the logo as a PNG and use that instead.
