Virus on my site?

My web hosting provider just notified me that one of my websites had a virus, most likely caused by a plugin or theme in WordPress. I clarified and told them that I do not use a browser-based developer but RapidWeaver. They had no idea what RapidWeaver was, but they said it had to be the web developer. I use a MacBook Pro and VPN and have virus protection, so I’m wondering how I could not know and why only one out of ten websites is affected when the others aren’t. Help!

There are many ways that the files on your website can be corrupted/infected. You use Rapidweaver so you probably have a very easy solution…

Just Repost All Files.

I do this periodically on my sites to be proactive against corruption/infection.

Thanks for the prompt response! I do repost regularly, so it’s weird that this issue popped up. However, it had been a while since I worked on this site, which might be the cause. Since I can’t see the corrupted file, I’ve asked the web hosting team to send me the details. Despite being the ones who discovered the virus, they don’t seem to be able to provide much information about it. Anyway, thanks again!

delete all the files then republish.
