Who uses Cloudflare?

DDoS happens all over the Internet not just political sites. Last year they hit a major hosting company, and had every site hosted their offline for hours.

Hmm! I learn something new every day. Thanks.

I’ve never used it but did look into using the free service at one stage when learning about https. Seems like a lot of people here find it very useful but the benefits to my site would not be great so decided against it.

I think if I had a website that used a lot of images I would definitely look into it again.

“Cloudflare doesn’t bring any real benefits?” … whoever told you that is wrong, it can add speed, it defeintly adds protection from things like DDoS attacks … plus, Joeworkman said its good stuff, and hes the man.

Ha! One word of caution. Cloudflare is amazing. But you cannot forget that you are using it. Cloudflare will cache your content even if you publish a new version. If you have cache busting links enabled, a republish all files will cause Cloudflare to re-cache your files (assuming you have not changed the default caching options).

If you are actively working on your site, I do recommend that you go into Cloudflare and either disable caching or enable “Development Mode”. Dev mode will automatically turn off in 3 hours of you forget to.
