Are you having FTP issues? We want to help!

Great to hear, Paul!

RapidWeaver 6.3 beta 1 is out with a whole host of FTP improvements, be sure to give it a try if you’re having issues: http://community.realmacsoftware.com/t/rapidweaver-6-3-beta-1/801

Thanks @dan, been have a bit of a email tennis match with support about this so send the log with hopefully help!!

@becca_shillito Make sure you try out the latest beta, it has a tonne of FTP improvements. It might help: http://community.realmacsoftware.com/t/rapidweaver-6-3-beta-2/922

A new FTP problem (being able to reproduce in 2 different WIFI locations, at home and in a hotel): If the FTP upload breaks, the domain used for the upload is not being able to be recognised any more by the WIFI router.
The domain is still reachable, e.g. through mobile internet. If you restart the routers internet connection, everything is fine again.

Just thought I’d let you know…
I just, finally, upgraded from RW5 to RW6.3.4 and made extensive changes to my site. I couldn’t publish it though - RW wouldn’t make a connection. However, I exported the site and then uploaded it via Transmit, using the same FTP settings, and got my site published.
While checking all the settings in RW6 I discovered that if I changed the connection to ‘active’ I could connect immediately (despite the setting being set to ‘passive’ in Transmit.)
I have no idea if this is an RW thing, or something to do with my web host, but I thought I’d let you know!

I’m having the same problem

I hope so. I’m going to be sending my reports soon because it’s getting a bit of a joke. I can publish my site first time, no problem but second or third time it always fails. If I log into my cPanel I can see that all the FTP sessions stay open as RW doesn’t seem to close them. The only way I can fix this is to close and restart RW and either wait for the FTP connections to timeout or manually close them. No other FTP app that I use exhibits this behaviour, only RW.

Expect logs soon Realmac. Real soon…!

The logs will be essential here… It could always be that the server blocks concurrent connections (and disconnects us).

Cheers,

—Nik

@Nik, I don’t know if others are experiencing this. I’m getting a crash whenever I “Republish All Files”. I’ve turned on Preferences > Publishing > Enable Upload Logging.

I do not see an option in Help to copy the logs. If you send me the log directory name, I can send them to you.

Let me know if you want me to try anything.

David

Seems I found other kindred souls here after having persistent upload freezes yesterday. Typically, RW upload would freeze somewhere north of 200 files, the last one at 342 of 344 files was particularly frustrating. I updated the site this morning and uploaded over 100 files with no problem though. I read the header of this thread and have enabled logging and will send in the file if further issue(s) arise.

Hi there,
I have the same Issues.

With TRANSMIT everything runs. (A bit slow but it works)

Here is the log:
