I’m sure this has been asked a million times, but what Stacks would be available for my friend who wants to build a website for his band? ie. Something that’ll make it possible for a website visitor to play his songs straight from the website and or download the songs too.
2 basic choices. One is a player which contains multiple tracks, the other is an individual stack solution where you add one song per stack. Advantage of he stacks approach is songs can be dotted around your web page and not just in one box.
For the multi-player, I have used rPlaylist from Rapid ideas. Advantage of this is it’s drag and drop simplicity. You could also look at Mixing Deck by Stack4stacks. Not used but looks very good - Will’s stuff generally is - but may need a bit of simple code I’m not sure. One more that looks very good is Audio from Yuzool themes.
For individual stacks there are several solutions including HTML5 Audio Player from from Joe Workman and Boom from Doobox. Both very good but I’m sure there are others.
There are also products allowing playback from Soundcloud and Dropbox. There is some advantage to these types of solution if your audio files are large and make your RW project resource heavy
One thing I’m not sure about is the ability to download the track - pretty sure not possible within some of the solutions above. If not, you could easily create a separate download area.
Yes, the Playlister stack has the option of a download button. The stack can be configured to play a single audio file or multiple audio files. Please let me know if you have any further questions about it.
I can tell that this post was from a while ago, eight years, but I was wondering if these stacks are mainly the ones I should still be looking at when picking stacks for playing music today? Playlister looks really good. I am just surprised that all the audio / music related posts seem to be from 2016, 2017.
