Any hope for Stacks to remember "library pane" state?

Really: any hope for Stacks to remember “library pane” state (open or closed) across re-launches (as it once used to do)?
already asked months ago and both Stacks and RW have seen many updates in the while
if instead I have to forget it once did and live with how it is now… please just say so
