Banner in Brandon Lee Couture theme won't work

Hi I’m hoping someone can help. I have the Brandon Lee theme Couture but I just can’t actually get a banner to work. These are the instruction;

  1. Open your page inspector and locate the Banner Area and the Number of Slides options.

  2. Simply select the following options: Static Image / Texture / Color (Static Image Enabled)

*Ensure that the “None (Static Image Enabled)” option is selected under the "Number of Slides (Slideshow

  1. Copy and paste the following code into your sidebar area with the name of the image you have dropped into your Resources area. Example: The page will display banner_1.jpg

So I have done all of that - I have named my image banner_1.jpg I have put it in the resources. I have copied the code into my sidebar. I have set the controls in the page inspector as instructed.

All I am getting is a no banner image plus a small blue square with a question mark in it. Thats it!

I have read and re-read the instructions tried every combination and still no banner. Can anybody help me hear - I have written to the developer - It seems this theme does not work as advertised - and anybody help?

I don’t have that theme. A URL to at least a test page would probably help you get help.

The blue square w/? Indicates the image wasn’t able to load.

Double check the code you placed in the sidebar. Make sure you have cleared formatting, placed as plain text, no curly quotes, etc.

If you don’t have a test page published then some screenshots might help.

Hi Doug
thank you for your reply - that seems to have fixed it - I can only assume I must have been putting code into the sidebar while it was still formatted. I have copied the code into the snippets then re-copied it into the sidebar - Voila! after hours of messing about and finally it appears. I can now get on with the site. Thank you very much for your advice on that I think you hit the nail on the head smile:
