⚠️ Beta Testers: Read Me First!

Hello Beta Testers,

These early betas of Elements are only available for those brave-souls that want to help shape the future of the product and support the team building it. If you are expecting a finished, feature complete product, this is not it (yet). These betas do not represent the final product.

Read Me First.txt

Beta builds are for testing purposes only and should not be used for production websites. Just to be extra clear, we do not recommend publishing a website using a beta product, if you choose to do so, you do at your own risk.

  • :warning: Saved projects may (and probably will) break in future builds. :warning:
  • Elements requires macOS Ventura or newer.
  • Elements is not feature complete.
  • Elements is not ready for production work.
  • There are A LOT of rough edges.
  • A work-in-progress manual can be found here.
  • All feedback should be posted in the Beta Feedback category.
  • Watch the weekly videos to stay up-to-date with development progress.
  • You may freely share info, videos, and screenshots of the Elements beta on YouTube, social media, and forums.

Known Beta Issues

This is NOT a complete list of all bugs. It’s just some of the bigger issues you’re likely to run into when you first start using the beta. All these issues (and many, many more) will be fixed before Elements officially launches.

Inline Text Editing Issues

There’s no visual way of adding styles or links to text, single line breaks are also ignored when previewed or exported.

Editor UI Glitches

It works, but it has some rough edges, please bear with us while we polish it up!

Layering Issues - Fixed in Beta 13 and 14.

Menu, Photo Gallery, Modal, and Lightbox components have issues with layering correctly.

Animation / Reveal Effects - Added in Beta 11!

Right now there’s no support for animating in design elements so that they appear as you scroll. This feature is in the works and should ship in a beta update soon.

Developers, Developers, Developers

If you’re interested in developing for Elements, the Dev Tools and the Element Pack Distribution Platform will be coming towards the end of the beta cycle. In the meantime, you can build Custom Components to get a feel for the Elements API.

Future Roadmap - 1.0 launch and beyond.

We have some big goals beyond shipping the first version of Elements publicly. The following is a general overview to give you a sense of the direction we’re taking. It’s subject to change and nothing is guaranteed. You should use Elements for what it can do NOW, not what it might do in the future.

Markdown Support

We’ll most likely build this as a separate component to the Heading and Paragraph components. This might make it into the initial release, but we have bigger issues to fix first (see above).

Blog / CMS

We’re really aware that this is an essential feature for a lot of users. While third-party solutions will be able to help with this, we do want to have basic support built-in. We have some exciting plans on how this could work, but we’re not there just yet.

Thank You

A big thank you, to those of you that have chosen to support us by buying into the beta, we really appreciate it. Together we can build the best website builder on the Mac!

If you have any questions or feedback about the Elements Beta, please post them below or in the Beta Feedback category.

Thanks,
Dan & Team Realmac

As well as the major issues listed above, we’re working our way through the following list of smaller bugs. Lots of good stuff to come!
