Dev Diary Ep65 - Elements is now in Early Access

Hey there,

Big day today!

Elements is moving out of Private Beta and into Early Access :tada:

On the surface, it won’t mean much to those of you already on the beta, but for those wanting to get involved — this is big news! Everyone can now visit elementapp.io and purchase a license for Elements and start building today.

We know we still have a lot of things to fix and add, but we’re making great progress. We have a lot lined up for the coming weeks and months. There is, of course, a new build out today with a bunch of fixes and improvements.

Now that Elements is a little more public, we’re moving to a more standard version numbering scheme. Today’s release is version 0.6. Why 0.6? Well, we’re thinking this will give us enough runway to increment up to the 1.0 release later this year.

Oh, and we haven’t forgotten about the Forms Component; it’ll be making an appearance soon. Promise.

New build will be available within the next hour — Make sure you have your volume turned up when you first launch it

Got stuck on landing window after video played - had to restart to be able to get at Elements - Ventura 13.7.4

Thanks @Bill, we’ll look into it. I do wonder if it’s only a MacOS 13.x issue…

Congratulations release elements :tada:

We’re about to roll out our website template soon! We’re just taking a little extra time to make sure it’s top-notch.

Dan, Please remind me. The purchase of an Early Access license is good for one year from the date of the purchase, or one year from the final app (V.1) release?

Hi Dan, a question: some time ago you warned the Beta users not to use the app for published sites because the final version of Elements may not support the published sites (I’m being clumsy with this but I’m sure you get my point). Will the Early Access version (and successive versions towards 1.0) allow us to now build sites that we can publish publicly?

On a side issue: When I try and update Elements from Beta b36 I see this error:

Congratulations with this milestone!

Q: When I choose ‘Registration…’, I do not see what type of subscription I now have, now that it’s out of the bèta.

All licenses run from the date of purchase, so if you purchase today the next payment will be due on 19th Feb 2026 in order to keep receiving updates.

Yes, we’re confident that Elements is now stable enough that you can publish your site.

Can you check that Elements is in your Applications directory, then give your Mac a reboot and try again. Let me know if you’re still seeing the error.
