Brand New Classic Themes Coming by Dave Cantu

Hi everyone!

Dave Cantu here. Long time, no see!

You may or may not remember me? I was the owner of RapidWeaverThemes.com and Later RWthemes.com and RWFlashThemes, at the very beginning of RapidWeaver. I created many themes, most of them graphic intensive and with Flash capabilities. Life and career happened and slowly moved away from developing themes. I am from Texas and work as a Senior designer for a company there. Currently, I am temporarily living in Europe and work remotely for my company. This has given me the time to begin looking into developing themes for Classic again. I am currently working on a brand new theme and will be reviving and bringing up-to-date a couple of original ones that may still interest some folks.

I will be posting an announcement as soon as the themes are ready, I will have a new website where they will be available.

Please contact me if you would like to be notified when themes are available. It would be great to hear from old and new friends :slightly_smiling_face:

See you soon!

Thanks!

Dave Cantu

Hey Michelangelo! Great to see you again!

Welcome back @DaveCantu! I just did a search of my old email and found some messages you’d posted to the RWDN mailing list from over 10 years ago :exploding_head:

Anyway, you have A LOT of catching up to do… You should take a look at Elements, it’s the future of RapidWeaver

Hey Dave, nice to hear from you again after such a long time…!
I just had a look and found some stuff I got from you up to 20 years ago. Time flies…

Hey @dan For sure! That is part of the plan :slightly_smiling_face:

In fact I recently replied to Realmac support with an inquiry, from an email to which I continue to get announcements, but haven’t heard back.

@RapidBase Hey Matt! That’s so cool! You have more of my themes than I do! I would love to get ahold of them again to bring some of them back to life :smiling_face_with_tear:

Haha, that’s amazing.

I feel like we should set up a repository on Github for RapidWeaver Addons that are no longer being sold or maintained.

As far as I know, Matthias (@RapidBase) has what is probably the largest collection of Stacks, add-ons, and themes in the entire RapidWeaver universe worldwide.

Someone should really build him a digital monument for that :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Even though he’s actually at home in a different “pond,” I can’t help but wonder what his Elements collection looks like these days… :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

We’re starting to get nostalgic, those were truly different times!! But it’s always nice to remember.
If I remember correctly, you were also the first to create themes for RWmultitool, the app I created many years ago to edit Themes images .I still have the folder of logos from the developers who provided support. It’s prehistoric times!

Damn! :fire:

@DaveCantu Will you also provide solutions for Elements?

@Fuellemann Yes, this is part of the long-term plan :slightly_smiling_face:

@dan Thank you sir!:partying_face:

This is why we should set-up an archive of Classic addons… this comes up a lot:

Maybe we should add a repository on GitHub, who’s up for contributing?

btw. It’s also why we’re doing things differently with the Elements Store, so this doesn’t happen in the future when developers go AWOL.

Welcome back from an end user….

Looking forward to seeing your work!

Best wishes
