I have just had a strange display of @joeworkman stack PDF embed…
on a non-SSL site…works great: The Bible Text/Old Testament/Genesis
And at the same location…the True Download 2 stack @Doobox works great on the non-SSL site, but I get an error on the SSL site…(Ajax)

Could the two domains be the issue? If you have entered a relative url and just copied it over?
Oh, wait: in the warnings section of the web inspector I can see that the pdf is located at a google server which is accessed with an http link. Https sites prevent the loading of content from http sites.
