Email Spambot Best Practices

I have a client site on which I have two mailto links for potential clients to email them. The email address isn’t in text anywhere on the site except in the code for the links.

The email account is getting spammed, and their IT people want me to put the email address as a picture on the site so the crawlers can’t read it.

Of course, this then makes it harder for clients to email them, especially if I don’t link the picture.

Is there a stack or better practice for making it easy for clients to email without resorting to a form or picture of an email address?

There are several ways to do this.

I believe this and this are two of the best… good luck!
