Squash is neat (https://www.realmacsoftware.com/squash/) but there are 2 free options that actually work much better especially when used together:

ImageOptim

and

ImageAlpha

Indeed, there is a lot of image-utility apps, some of them free, some of them as good or maybe better than Squash. I have several of them, but I bought Squash anyway – just to support @dan and @bon and their company.
