Hi my name is Alan and I live in Namibia (originally from Scotland) I have been using Rapidweaver for a few years now and updated to Stacks designs 2 years ago, thank goodness I did !
I have about 10 clients I design sites for at the moment, and when I get in trouble or need advice this is the forum to go to, thanks all.
I have asked this before without any real feedback are there any Rapidweaver users in Namibia or South Africa ? I think I’m the only one in Namibia.
Have a great weekend Alan
Hi Guys
My name is Phil and i have been in film special effects and industrial design for more than 45 years. Started off working on the original StarWars back in the UK as well as films like Alien, Superman, Batman, James Bond, The Medusa Touch, Warlords of Atlantis and many more. I opened Eagle Models Ltd in the UK in 1983 where my team of extremely talented model-makers completed more than 2500 TV commercials and many hundreds of industrial design projects. We also built the majority of models, interactive displays and exhibits for the Taiwanese Science Museum.
I now live in Maine USA and still produce models and industrial design commissions for clients all over the world, now using more up to date machines like CNC and 3D printers. Even after all this time i still love what i do.FaceBook Page
Hi,
My name is Gareth and I’ve been a professional computer programmer for more than 30 years, and a PHP developer for about 17 years. I chose Rapidweaver to build the site for my hopeful new career as photographer. I’m still programming, mostly heavy back-end work, but for my own stuff, I want to concentrate on the content.
I live in Zeist in The Netherlands although I am originally British, and have had a Dutch passport for 18 months (Brexit-proofing).
Welcome aboard!
My name is Derek, from the Red River Valley of North Dakota. I have been using RapidWeaver for the past 10+ years, doing simple projects. Today, I am beginning to upgrade my skills and competency in RapidWeaver, to upgrade my old and non sophisticated sites. I appreciate this forum and expect to use it to save me time, and teach me innovative ways to solve problems.
Hi. Introducing myself. Musician in the UK. I used to use Apple’s web software which was easy and very wysiwyg and good for non techies like me. So when they retired it, I needed a replacement for my music site, hence Rapidweaver. Struggling a bit with it to be honest. I can’t find an actual user manual - is there one? I’ve followed all the tutorials but cannot find answers to some of my questions, so looking forward to getting some help on these Forums in exchange for much gratitude! Keep safe everyone!
Search this forum for ‘manual’ and you should find a link to the RW7 manual PDF. That’s the most recent doc I think.
Thanks
Hello I am Gregor. I’m in Argyll Scotland. I’ve recently started on Rapid Weaver and I am at the totally confused stage so apologies in advance for all the really daft questions I’m sure I’ll be looking for answers to. I have purchased a copy of stacks as well and I see that a lot of videos on you tube refer to foundry and stacks. I am hoping I can build my website with what I have (Weaver 8 and stacks 4).
Great stuff Gregor. Welcome aboard!
And thank you for allowing me to procrastinate on a Friday afternoon for a few minutes.
RW and Stacks are a great combination on their own. You don’t really NEED anything else at all, apart from themes. You’re already good to go.
There are a couple of different frameworks if you wanted to literally start from scratch. Like Foundry, Foundation and Source. But they aren’t essential for most people who are new to web design and Rapidweaver.
Come to them later on if things feel a bit too much.
Take your time, ask questions in the forum and let’s change the world one site at a time.
Hi I have been struggling with RapidWeaver for 3 years and have a site which is non functional in terms of internet expertise but slowly I work with it. I have had a School of Natural Medicine for 43 years, a teacher, healer, evolutionary educator, international seminar leader, author, and need help. At present I think the only way is to get my RWo a design level and then get a tech to turn it into Word Press. I just can’t master RW enough and everything is too much tech for a savy healthy creative energetic 78 year old. I got on here because someone I trusted said to add duckduckgo to chrome for security and it wiped out every google password and link and I can open RW and design but I don’t have the editor link to open up and create a blog post. I have asked for teach from support all day today and no answer so far. I see there are people to help someone from another generation who is full on helping and educating people and doesn’t have the time to master RW. It took me several hours to figure out how to create a container of two columns with a round photo and ages to get the text to line up with my new message and immediately after several people enrolled. I just don’t know the tech part. Advice from anyone is a help. purehealth.com my website. I like to create pages (however now I am trying to simplify and delete and create a site that works better on a phone and so on. Thanks for any response. I enjoy my life and have great skills in my field. Farida

Hi All,
I’m Doug Parke, live in the wilds of South Gippsland in Victoria, Australia, where we retired to a renovators delight 25 acre farmlet. We run a few Belted Galloway cows, dorper sheep and three cats. We make jams and chutneys from our orchard and we also run a two bedroom cottage B&B.
I have been working with RW as a novice for a while now and very happy with the product and the community support I have received. Been getting educated on html and CSS lately as a way to ensure I fully understand how to use this tool.
Hello weavers.
I bought my first copy of Rapid Weaver 6 in 2015 and built a page just to see how it works. Now I upgraded to RW 8 and I am trying to do a more complex site with event registration and database. I am using Macs since 1992 and I am an addict. Even in my own company (which I bought 5 years ago) I kicked out all Windows machines and replaced them with Macs.
Hi, just purchased a copy of Rapid… I designed my site on Everweb… but I found Rapid has more to offer. I see the two apps are different Everweb can do fixed width sites also, and thats how my old site is designed. But responsive seems the way to go anyway, and I need to be able to add code, so that’s only available on Rapid, as well as the membership addons i’ll also need. I dunno ANYTHING about how to use it. But when I get time I will be learning and hopefully designing a top-notch professional and badass website!!! And nothing against Everweb… I just see Rapid is a bit more professional and catered to my needs.
Hi I am Hassan and happy to be part of the the happy weaving community!
Cheers, Hassan
Welcome to the community!
Always meant to get around to this but never quite did.
I’ve been using RW since 2008 but only ever for one main website and enjoy learning more about web design as hobby.
I live in the Scottish highlands and also enjoy sci-fi and photography when I can find the time.
I’m not a professional designer (I’m a scientist by profession) but try to help other and ask a few questions of my own.
Hello,
I’m Paul. I’m building a memorial website for my brother. At present I am finding RW pretty disappointing. It just seems to be a selling opportunity. For example I just purchased Stacks with a capital S then I purchased Image sector but I can’t see any change in the page I am trying to create. What is going on?
Have you had a look at the instructions and guide for Image Sector? https://onelittledesigner.com/rapidweaver/kb/image-sector/
If you’re still having issues, you’ll need to create a new topic describing the problem. More people might be able to help. This “Introduce Yourself” topic isn’t the place to ask for help.
