Introducing the new SimpleSearch stack

Want to add a simple search function to your websites? Then the all new SimpleSearch stack might be exactly what you’ve been looking for! SimpleSearch provides another choice of search addon for RapidWeaver. This search solution is particularly well-suited for small to medium sized websites.

SimpleSearch is a flat-file search system with no dependancies on Google, Yahoo, PHP or databases etc. Simplicity is very much the emphasis in SimpleSearch. In effect, you become the search bot and take responsibility for cataloging your web pages! This opens the possibly to fine-tune the search results your website visitors see and keep your search index instantly updated whenever something changes on the website.

Many style and colour settings are provided, so you can make the search boxes and results page match your existing website design.

SimpleSearch is able to pass keywords over to your search page, using query strings in the web browser address bar. An accidental feature to emerge from this is the ability for SimpleSearch to also be configured to pass keywords to external searching websites; like IMDb, Amazon, eBay, Google, Flickr and just about any other website that deploys searching via query strings! SimpleSearch can also be linked to existing RapidSearch and RapidSearch Pro pages in your website too.

How neat! Congrats on the launch!

Thanks for the feedback!

Does SimpleSearch also work / integrate well with the Foundation theme of Joe Workman?

I would be very surprised if it doesn’t. But you can download the free trial and see for yourself.
