Parked domain vs redirected domain

I’m curious what the pros/cons are to having a parked domain vs a redirected domain. So, if a client has purchased two domains - lets say and - and I want to use the .ca one. Should I park the .com or should I redirect it to the .ca?

My initial thought was to redirect it but the host I am using (bluehost) seemed to have parking as the only/most readily available option. (I’m new to this host, so I may have been looking in the wrong spots).

Anyway, curious which one I should be doing. The purpose is solely to hold on to the .com name but use the .ca in practice.

Since you are using the .ca, I would redirect the .com for sure, a lot of people still enter .com by default
