reCaptcha Invalid keys then an error occurred

When I built this site, recently, for some reason reCaptcha would not work. I was getting an invalid key type error, so I chose to use the simpler, Captcha.

Now, all of a sudden, I got a notification from Google that reCaptcha isn’t protecting my website! (even though I did not have reCaptcha, but the older, Captcha.)

Indeed, I just visited the site and tried sending a test form. The result: An error occurred.

I removed Captcha and reinstalled reCaptcha, got the same error I have been getting from the start, invalid key type: [attached].

I removed all Contact folder files via FTP, uploaded reCaptcha again, no longer getting the invalid key type error upon loading the page, but when I submit the form, same problem: An error occurred.

I am at my wits’ end as to why this Captcha/reCaptcha isn’t working. Any ideas?

Andreas,

I tested the form and it worked fine? Did you figure out the problem?

You are using outdated , unsupported products however. Might be time to upgrade

Thank you! Yes, we figured out the problem. The domain was set to PHP 8.1, even though I understand I need PHP 7.4 for Formloom 3 to work.

I hear you regarding the outdated products. I have been using:

High Sierra
Rapidweaver 7
Formloom 3

The reason? I guess I am a victim of my own success. I have more than 100 websites, each with at least 2 forms. Upgrading to anything like Catalina or higher would cause my formloom 3 forms to cease functioning. Also, even though I purchased a license for Formloom 4 early on, I could not use it because it would not coexist and is not backwards compatible with Formloom 3. All 200+ forms of mine would be instantly rendered inoperable!

I could not find a way to migrate my 100 websites incrementally to Classic as opposed to having to upgrade them all at once, so I stayed with the “obsolete” products thus far. I purchased an M mac in addition to my Intel one and will be migrating to Classic this winter.
