RW 7.2.2 (18500) Unable to Preview

(Janice) #1

I am unable to preview a page while editing my website. If I select the Preview tab I get a nicely formatted page that says:

“The requested page couldn’t be found”
“This page could not be previewed. The page may not exist, or something went wrong”, and then a “Go Back” button.

If I then select another format (anything other than the previous default), I get"
Warning: chdir(): No such file or directory (errno 2) in /Applications/RapidWeaver 7.app/Contents/Resources/RWWebServerLaunch.php on line 147

Warning: file_get_contents(/private/var/folders/m5/yq5xzmyn159ffxc3f_x308xh0000gn/T/com.realmacsoftware.rapidweaver/RapidWeaver/1072/document-0x7f9abd500000/RWDocumentPagePreview/DiveLogDT/DLM-Download.html): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /Applications/RapidWeaver 7.app/Contents/Resources/RWWebServerLaunch.php on line 161

I can publish just fine.

Hard to tell exactly what the page is supposed to be doing, but one thing to check is to make sure you delete the corresponding html file on your server. If you’ve created a page that is php, there are probably both now on your server. Does it work when published? If not, that may be your problem. or, some php pages will not preview in RW, but should render fine when published, unless as mentioned above, you now have a php page vs html page.

This doesn’t have anything to do with my server. I can publish just fine and the page looks as it should. I just can’t preview the page while I’m working on it. No php anywhere on the site, so not related to the php problem. It’s just basic html. It appears to be a RapidWeaver bug. I’m hoping that there is a workaround somehow?

Are you sure you have no php?

RapidWeaver uses some PHP to preview pages.
Have you tried restarting RW (I know simple question)?
You could try to reinstall RW https://kb.realmacsoftware.com/section/4-release-notes
Other than that without a project file it would be hard to tell what might be causing this.
May want to contact realMac for support.
