I’ve got a real issue which I need to resolve as soon as possble. Can anyone help me please?
Problem: I am unable to edit any text in my website in text, html and markdown stacks. I have added new stacks to try and see if that would help…and no, it won’t.
What I’m using:
Hardware: MacOS Ventura 13.7 on MacBook Pro 2017 and have tried it on our Sonoma 14.6.1 on iMac 2021,
Software: Rapidweaver Classic 9.3.2 and Stacks Plugin (5.1.2) (6312)
I have sent my file to Will Woodgate who designed ProGallery 4 to see if he could help me, he has no problem with my file and cannot recreate my issues…so it’s just me and the two computers at the moment.
Can anyone help me please? I’ve messaged yourhead.com regarding Stacks but haven’t heard anything yet. .F.A.O @isaiah Thank you, Debbie
You said you sent the project file to Will and he could edit the text fine, so it doesn’t seem like it’d be any kind of setting in your project file. Did you send him all your addons too so he was testing exactly as you have on your Mac?
Maybe try duplicating the project file on your Mac, then try opening that duplicate copy in RapidWeaver to see if you can edit the text in the copy?
If you create a new project in RapidWeaver, are you able to edit the text in that new project?
Hi, I’ve just made a brand new ‘site’. I’ve added a ‘text’ stack and a ‘mark down’ stack and I couldn’t edit either of them ,so it’s not a bug in my actual website, it’s the set up itself…
Thanks @Bruno. I’m not on Discord so I have no idea what gets reported over there.
@Pipspaws mentioned they were using Stacks Plugin (5.1.2) (6312). Wasn’t there an update recently that fixed the Stacks menu from disappearing in RWC 9.3.2? I saw someone mention there was a Stacks update. Maybe that new version is working properly?
Hi @dang Isaiah is on the successive beta versions of the Stacks 5 update. From what I understand, the successive beta updates have not resolved all the issues. I don’t know more because I stayed on the final release without the Stacks menu (I don’t miss it, I’ve never used it), I’m waiting for the final release to update.
The problem with the text stack seems to be subsequent to the problem related to the Sequoia update, I admit that I didn’t understand the explanations regarding the origin of the problem. I really don’t recommend using the stacks 5 beta update for the moment given the feedback.
Thanks both of you @Bruno and @dang. I know @willwood is having a few issues too with his text box stack (not as bad as mine…)
I wonder, could I load an earlier version of stacks…? My site last worked normally in July, would that give you a clue to which version I might need to reload?
I’m running Ventura 13.7. and RW 9.3.2
Today I found that my Spacer, Button2 and IG connect stacks had disappeared. It’s a real concern…
Pretty sure Stacks 5.1.2 was out in July, but sure you can try to install older versions of Stacks if you want. Their archive page is here.
Is anybody else reading this having trouble with editing text in the text, html and markdown stacks using RW 9.3.2 and Stacks 5.1.2? Yours is the first we’ve heard about it.
Hi @bruno, Thanks for getting back to me. I downloaded it and sadly still have the same issue. I’m starting to despair. I’m wondering if it’s my settings but since @willwood could open my file ok, it seems that, that is unlikely. I haven’t heard anything from yourhead.com so the search for a solution continues.
Hi, you are running the same as me, expect I’m on Ventura 13.7. I’ve tried it on our iMac which is running os Sequoia and that also fails to edit text. I’ve even resorted to running ‘Cleanmymac’ to see if I have a bug, but no :(. I’ve not heard anything from yourhead.com so I’m starting to get really worried. I need to update my site for a large solo exhibition in November…it’s all such bad timing…
Yes, the basic ‘Text’ stack (the one that ships with the Stacks plugin) is still missing for me in the Stacks Library. Although I can duplicate existing text stacks, to get around that problem. I have some cases open for some other potentially nasty crashes and data loses, I’ve been seeing in recent weeks.
However I am able to gently nurse RapidWeaver Classic and Stacks 5 along in “limp mode”, so I am happy to receive project files from you or anyone else needing help with opening or publishing anything. Just use my contact details on the Stacks4Stacks.com or ThemeFlood.com websites to reach out to me.
