Using Webfonts and localised Google fonts

I’ve seen in the Big White Duck Stacks that you’re able to use webfonts and I’ve also noticed that people are talking about localising Google fonts. Are there any tutorials that go through doing this? I know Joe has a Font Stack, but whilst I’m sure it offers great value if you’re going to do this a lot, I don’t really want to spend $50 for a small fun project site.

Any suggestions?
