Nimblehost Armadillo… I think that is dying? No new updates or features.
I really don’t know is there real support anymore? I use this all of my sites.
“I think Jonathan is based in Japan. I have heard this morning that they have just had a very bad typhoon hit the island in recent days and caused widespread disruption. That could be why his replies are taking longer than normal to come through. It sometimes happens. Most RW addon developers are independents and occasionally have to go offline for one reason or another.”
Your message pretty much encapsulates, for me, the dark and dangerous side of the RW ecosystem.
Let me give my perspective on what you seem to be saying:
Nimblehost Armadillo… I think that is dying? No new updates or features.I really don’t know is there real support anymore? I use this all of my sites.
If you use it on all your sites - what support could you need? What do you expect from the developer here? You paid what… $30 or something for Armadillo, have used it on a number of sites and now, because you haven’t noticed any updates for a while, you are upset and publicly post about the product ‘dying’.
Doobox, no answer in support. (contact Form)
You don’t say how long you waited. Again, these stacks are sold at a few $$ each and then we seem to expect the developer to be jumping to attention when you ( and it almost certainly WILL be you ) have a problem and expect “support”.
This Is pretty sad, because I have pay for products and there is no any support.
What ‘support’ do you think your $7.99 entitles you to? How much time do you think your $30 or $7.99 would buy you in any other website building community based on paid for add-ons? I pretty much guarantee that the “support” you are asking about is not going to be about the stack or add-on being defective. It is almost certainly going to be about digging you out of a hole you put yourself in but lack the knowledge to get out of. Yeah sure, from time to time, you can call me wrong… but for the vast majority of the time my point stands.
Stop and think about how much “support” you think your few dollars would buy you anywhere else before posting about somebody’s product “dying”. Its that kind of entitled attitude to “support” that will drive up the cost of add-ons and stacks in order for devs to drop everything to tell you how to configure your host or untangle your pages.
Here come the dislikes, here come the flames…fine…fine … but stop and look at it from the devs perspective for a minute. Whats so wrong with asking for assistance here in the meantime?
Armadillo support is normally answer 2 days.
Now I wait weeks and there is open issues what should be fixed.
Development seems to be almost stop? But that is only my opinion.
This is why it comes to mind is that product “dying”.
Doobox I have sent 3-4 mail to support.
Fist was almost year ago and latest 2 weeks ago.
But now they promise to fix that issue… So this is ok.
I want that support If I pay 1$ or 100$ if there is bug or something.
Product not work as they promise…
Example that BitBox template is useless and I pay money for that? So because that is so cheap, I can’t except that work and I can’t request/except to get any support?
