"apple-touch-icon-precomposed.png is ill-formed" error

I got a great tip here ages ago on favicons, so now I always create my favicons and open graph image using https://realfavicongenerator.net/. I love it. However, I always seem to have the same problem with the IOS Safari icon (see attached screen grab). No matter if I generate a jpg or a png I always get this error: …apple-touch-icon-precomposed.png is ill-formed.

Has anyone else found this or is it just me?

Usually this works for me @Gabrielle using this site

Are your images square?
Any transparency in the image?

Hi Michael, Always square yes and I’ve tried with flat jpgs and flat pngs but it always comes up with the same error, how weird IS that?

Very weird :face_with_monocle:
How about trying another generator like:

https://www.favicon-generator.org
https://www.favicongenerator.com

Hope you can fix it!

Thanks for that I’ll take a look
