Armadillo & media folder location

Hi,

All armadillo medias are stored in : /rw_common/plugins/stacks/armadillo/media

Is it possible to relocate that folder at another place , for instance at the root ? for instance something like /armadillo_media

Tks

I don’t think there’s anyway to do that. What would be the reason you’re looking to move the folder? @nimblehost?

Hi @wingo,

The short answer is no… but, there’s always a way to do what you want.

It’s technically possible to move the Armadillo media folder (or leave it where it is and create your own wherever you want), but you would then not be able to use the built-in features like uploading files in the online dashboard, or selecting from uploaded files in the content editor. Instead, you would need to manually upload files via FTP to wherever you want your media folder to be, and manually specify the URL to any such files in the content editor by editing the source code.

So, “is it possible” - yes, but you’ll lose the ability to upload via a web browser, and select uploaded files via the UI in the content editor.

Hope this helps.

@wingo @nimblehost - would it be possible to move the folder and then create an alias and put the alias in the current spot?

Fred

@smokyhills Possibly? I’ve not tried this before and am unsure if the media upload functionality would function correctly in such a scenario.
