Changed default extension to php but RW continues to use html

I changed the default extension to php in a project file, deleted the entire website from the server then republished. RW still publishes index.html instead of index.php. How do I correct this?

Changing the default only changes new pages, you would need to go to the page inspector for each existing page you want to change to PHP and change them there.
