Failed backup on Sequoia 15.0.1

None of my settings have changed in all previous RapidWeaver backups but my backup failed today. I am currently running 15.0.1 (24A348) and got this error message,

Couldn’t upload OldCoffeeRoaster- Oct. 17, 2024.rwc.zip to your SFTP server!
Error in the SSH layer. URL: sftp://bell.chillidoghosting.com:23261

I am using a M3 Max Apple MacBook Pro

What do your SFTP publishing settings look like in RapidWeaver? Can you post a screenshot here? Blurring out any password of course.

Dang,
Hope this helps.

Hi @richjh,

All that looks right.

Maybe ping @barchard or @LaPan so they can check the server logs to see what’s up.

From Google, this appears an issue with the client side:

I’d suggest clicking the Browse button and manually re-choosing the public_html directory. This isn’t a server issue and nothing I can check on the server as the request never reaches the server before the error is generated. I’ve passed this along too for investigation.

Thanks

I will try your suggestion and get back to you. Im struck that all of my changes update and it’s only when I backup fails. I will try your suggestion.

Hey @barchard,

Funny I saw the same StackOverflow article when researching the error. I noticed this response which prompted the suggestion for @richjh to reach out to you guys.

But yeah it’s always good to select the path using the Browse button instead of manually trying to enter it. Perhaps that will get it working. :slightly_smiling_face:

Let us know if you’re still getting any errors after selecting the path from the Browse button @richjh

Yea both are good suggestions to check but he has plenty of free space.

Thanks

I have restarted twice and tried and it would always hang on saving backup. I also
manually re-chose the public_html directory and still no go.

I have tried three times now and it still fails to backup. On reading another post on this thread how do I get to the below suggestion?

. This possibly means there is not enough space left on the SFTP you want to put data
on. Deleting old and unnecessary files from the SFTP solved the problem for me.

Hey @richjh,

Can you enable upload logging per our guide here and send us your publishing logs so we can take a look?

This is a test to see if Peak Web mail will send back to the RW forum.
I am not receiving any traffic from the forum?
So – maybe the problem isn’t here as Peak is sending mail to our Mac Mail.
That part of the equation is working? Right?
