Gallery 3 - Image size suggestions

hi there another question for Gallery 3 - I’m creating a portfolio page using single image and chocolat - wondering if any can give me an indication of an image dimension and size for them to display well and load up promptly…

if anyone has advise that would save me a lot of trial and error -
