Can i use Rapidweaver to support and further develop already existing websites initially not created with Rapidweaver?

Not really, I’m afraid. You can copy and paste the content, but you’ll have essentially re-build the pages and find Rapidweaver equivalents for any of the features - like slideshows, for example - that are used on the existing site.
