I had RW running, but was not actively using it. MacOS popped up a warning saying that I was out of memory… it showed that RW was not responding and was using 108GB (yes, that’s gigabytes) of memory. Any idea what’s going on here?

I’d just go ahead and Force Quit RapdiWeaver. If it keeps happening then post back.
