Nested Bulleted Lists

I got a support request today about nested bulleted lists today. Have you ever tried to create a nested bullet list in Styled Text? Apparently I never have because its busted. The nested part of the list has 2 bullets…

I am pretty sure that this cannot be fixed with just CSS. Please prove me wrong if you can. You could use an inline style for list-style:none on the li that contains the nested bullet.

I also have to say that the code that this outputs is pretty bad. The list pictured above actually creates about 6 different bullet lists on top of each other.

Markdown nested lists work perfect…

Yeah, don’t do that. It’s a dumpster fire. We’ve tried to fix this in the past (many times) and it’s non-trivial. So this won’t be fixed or changed for 8.0

Our plan is to ship a new plugin (like the one what that was in earlier RW8 builds) that will replace this plugin/view for something much more modern (and useful).

I think this is great. Keep the old one around, but invisible by default.

Start fresh. Too much of the web has changed to carry all that baggage forward.

I’m feeling like it’s time to start going this with some old stacks things too.
