hello good weaver folks,
my provider has sold me an brand new SFTP package for all my “secure” sites. unfortunately it doesn’t work with rapidweaver. putting in all the pertinent data it comes back with “unable to connect to server” whch it did without problems with the old packages. i gort used uploading with “forklift” but it is a bi annoying… any advice, anybody?
thanks much, tomas
A few things might help you get help with this issue.
- What version of RapidWeaver are you using?
- Do you get the error when you press the test button?
- If you don’t get the error on test but do on publish
- try clearing out the path and press thebrowse button.
- If that doesn’t work perhaps give us a screenshot of the forklift settings that work.
The server name in the screenshot “starting with SFTP” looks suspect.

hello @teefers (aka doug) thanks for the speedy reply.
- i am using rapidweaver 8.2.4, with all the latersed updates
- yes indeed, i get the error pushing the “test” button. i did try to publish but no avail
- very little i can do about that, it’s the servername united domains (my server company heree in bavaria) gave me. it does work flawlessly with forklift. i just got a mail from them sying to use port 22.
thanks again! as a matter of fact i got used to publish via forklift with version 7 et al, so no big change for me
cheers, tomas
Remove the sftp:// from the server name and it will work
Best regards
J.
