Offsite not updating

Hi, I have Offsite installed and have it linked to a simple HTML file. It all works statically but when I make changes to the HTML file they aren’t reflected in the main page. Shouldn’t it update accordingly? I can access the external HTML page in a browser and see the changes there but they don’t show up in my RW page.

Hi Mike,

a URL please.

Just wondering, are you using the Offsite Plugin that comes with RapidWeaver, or are you using Joe Workman’s Offsite stack?!?

I’m using the JW version.

www.spid.ca/page-9/

Also, SPID.ca and navigate to Untitled Page 2 for the correct view

So here’s an update. I’m using JW’s Offsite. I also tried a stack called Embed. It turns out they both work but for some reason the update doesn’t happen for a long time. Maybe hours, I’m not sure yet. Viewing the page I’m trying to embed I can see the update immediately. Also, I tried using the built in Offsite which requires it’s own page. It seems to work correctly, updating as soon as I save my edits to the target page. I’m completely puzzled as to why there would be such a huge delay with the stacks versions. Also, as another tidbit of info, the updates happen immediately within RW when I preview.

What is the URL you are trying to embed into the spida.ca page? When I checked both URLs, I could not see any missing content.

And now the solution: clearing the caches in Safari makes everything update immediately. So. Is this normal? I’ve been hitting refresh throughout the process. Could it have something to do with JavaScript? Any and all thoughts appreciated. Especially ideas for workarounds.

Safari has a very hard cache sometimes. Just could be a cache issue.
