Override site banner issue

Hi all,

Because I have a website with a lot of travelpictures and movie clips I decided to create separate projects for every trip we make. My issue is with the last project I created. The override site banner I use in that project replaces the one in another project. The two pictures aren’t even in both projects but still after I publish one project, the picture I use as the override site banner gets replaced with that picture in the other project.
I publish both projects in the same folder, but because override site banners are being placed in the Resources folder it was my opinion that that could not cause the issue.

Does anyone have ideas as to the cause and the solution of the issue?
Not being a native English speaker I hope I have been able to describe the issue well enough.
Thank you for your help!

Hi @Dragoness63 How do you publish two project in same folder? If so only one index.html or index.php (be sure there is not both at the root) is in the root folder. Maybe I don’t understand correctly what you describe. Could you give us more details?

Thank you for your reply. I can understand that the information I provided was too brief. I’ll try to explain which is quite hard because I don’t understand the issue myself.

I only have one indexfile which is in the root folder. Because of all the pictures and movies, my main project had gotten far too big so I decided to create different projects for each trip we made. These do not have a real indexfile (just a dummy file that I do not publish), just a bunch of html files which I upload from Rapidweaver to different folders in the httpdocs folder so they don’t all end up in the root folder. I do that by filling out the Folder field in the meta data page of the project:

I use the Lander Pro theme for my website. In this theme I can place an override site banner. Per project I use different override sites banners which have unique names. I upload these pictures to Resources and drop them from there. The issue I have now is that the override site banner from one project (“X” ) appears as the banner picture on some pages in another, completely different project (“Y”) after publishing project (“X” ) and vice versa. They do not appear in my main project (I’ll call that “A”) by the way.

The pictures I use as override site banners have unique names, I uploaded them only to the resources folder of the project where I use them (but of course they all end up in the same resources folder in httpdocs after publishing). So there is no reference to these files between the two projects. I had done this before without problems with my main project and project (“X” ), but after I created project (“Y”) the issue appeared.

I understand that I might not have chosen the right way to use multiple project for one website by the way but I have searched for solutions, couldn’t find one so thought of one myself. Advice on how to solve my oversized site (other than having to resize all pictures) is very welcome as well.

This is the url of my website
project “X” - Barth & Ineke ~ USA & Burning Man
project “Y” - Barth & Ineke ~ Spitsbergen (you can see that the issue starts from page 2, but when I re-publish this project the override site banner of 2 to 8 of project “X” will change again).

I hope I’ve been able to provide the information needed for someone to help me with this issue. Thank you!

Hi @Dragoness63
Looking at the web inspector, we see that the header refers to the logo and image of the site. I think that by separating the original site into several parts, the pieces of code of one project overwrite the others of another project because it refers to what is entered in the general properties of the Rapidweaver project. Here a blank one example :

Since these are several projects published on the same site, this kind of problem may persist. But I admit that I don’t know if I understood what you explained in detail (I’m French, hence sometimes a problem in the exact translation of the meanings).
I don’t see how to do it without clearly separating each project for each site.

How come your Project X uses a subfolder travels2024:

https://www.barth-ineke.nl/travels2024/usa_01.html

But your Project Y doesn’t:

https://www.barth-ineke.nl/svalbard_01.html

I think each project file needs to have unique folder names so they don’t interfere with each other.
