Responsive themes update

Hello … .I haven’t seen a recent post about this so I’ll ask … I’m using the Blank theme, which I believe is supposed to be responsive. But it’s not in my case. Using it with Bootstrap v5. Is there something else I need to do? Thanks.

@wfb812 Hi, which blank theme do you use?

Perhaps it’s @willwood’s Blank theme?

It’s by ThemeFlood. I believe it came bundled with RW.

@wfb812 Hi, It’s William Woodgate Blank Theme (« he’s » Themeflood). This theme is responsive. Can you provide us a photo of the stacks page. You can of course contact William Woodgate at Stacks4stacks.com.

Case closed. It transpires that the old Blocks plugin from YourHead Software was being used.

This is not mobile compatible (without a serious amount of custom coding) and therefore was breaking on tablet and mobile. Things were not scaling or reflowing to fit smaller screens. Chunks of content were instead going off the edge of the page.

Themes like Blank have no means of making old / obsolete plugins mobile compatible.

The Stacks plugin could instead be a more appropriate solution for building intricate page designs that hold-up better on smaller screens.

Thanks for that. I never would have come to that conclusion.

Also, how do I determine that a plugin is obsolete?

Generally just by word-of-mouth on these forums and by the frequency in which you see plugins get updated.
